Flight 1 Moscato Bite - $7
#1 - Bricco Riella Moscato d'Asti (Italy) Btl $10.99 / Gls $5.00
A great value and many people's favorite Moscato. I find this to be one of the sweeter Moscatos on the market, with fresh peach, floral and a distinct grapey aroma common to all Muscats.
#2 - Saracco Moscato d'Asti (Italy) Btl $14.99 / Gls $6.00
Very fine, I find this more delicately complex and with higher acidity to balance the sweetness than the Bricco. Yummy.
#3 - Tintero "Sori' Gramella" Moscato d’Asti (Italy) Btl $15.99 / Gls $6.00
A spectacular single-vineyard example of a Moscato d'Asti. Strangely serious considering the nature of Moscato - but I dig it. This wine is great!
Flight 2 A Tour of Italy - $9
#1 - Castello di Farnetella "Colli Senesi" Chianti Btl $15.99 / Gls $6.00
Ripe wild berries on the nose layered with slight nuances of spice and dried herbs. Smooth and silky on the palate - an impressive fruit driven finish with vanilla notes.
#2 - Frettelli Revello Barbera d'Alba Btl $19.99 / Gls $7.00
Dark and brooding with generous amounts of fruit on the nose and palate. Firm structure, gloriously textured with uncommon complexity. A full, "modern" Barbera.
#3 - Malvira Nebbiolo Langhe Btl $24.99 / Gls $8.00
Scents of cassis, cherry, tar, coffee, leather, vanilla and a lot more. Firm but ripe tannins typical of Nebbiolo add to the generous mouth feel and overall experience of drinking this wine. Great value for Piedmont Nebbiolo.
